chronicling my journey to read the Holy Scripture

As a new convert who has forsaken idolatry and heathenry, I have come to the faith from a place of complete ignorance of the Bible. This started, as I described in greater detail on other scrolls, by simply admitting that I do not have all the answers and by submission to the Church's authority on matters of God.

But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in becoming well studied in and knowledgeable about the Scripture. I'm just new. I've always been academically minded and it doesn't make sense for me not to continue that theologically now that I've come to religion.

I'm not qualified to lead you on a Bible study and that isn't what this is. These are anecdotes about reading the different books and how I came to do that.

  1. Hebrews
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
  2. Matthew & John
The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
  3. Genesis & Exodus
I will take you to be my people, and I will be your God.
  4. Hosea
You are not my people and I am not your God.
